Deuteronomy is the fifth book in the Bible, and last in the five books of the Law. Interestingly, after Jesus fulfilled the Law, by His death on the Cross, He had five holes in His body.
When our Lord was tempted there was only one Old Testament book He quoted to overcome Satan - Deuteronomy! Like the verse in Martin Luther’s song, A Mighty Fortress, “One little word shall fell him.”
Out of David’s five smooth stones it only took one to bring down that Satanic giant. It doesn’t take many Scriptures to bring down your adversary; one arrow will kill a man, if your aim is straight.
