STAYING CLOSE TO GOD'S MERCY SEAT

He [the High Priest] shall take of the blood of the [sacrifice] and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat...And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat...Moses... heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat...Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh...Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
(Lv. 16:14;Ex. 25:17,22;Num. 7:89;Heb. 10:19-20;4:6)

THOUGHT

“Take notice of not only the mercies of God, but of God in the mercies. Mercies are never so savoury as when they savour of our Saviour."

(Ralph Venning, Puritan)
