“The Revelation of Jesus Christ.”
(Rev. 1:1)
Prophetic Bible teachers, books on prophecy, and students of last things that do not see that Christ is both the object and content of Revelation miss the meaning of the entire book. The antichrist, millennium, New Jerusalem, heaven, hell, tribulation period, Satan, etc. all have to play second fiddle to the Lord Jesus Christ in this end-time book. It’s about the Lordship of Jesus and His sovereign right over the entire world its inhabitants and events. He is taking back everything the devil stole!
Many ask the question, “What is the book of Revelation about?” My answer is a quote from another, “A question may be asked in a sentence; the reply may take a century.” Most certainly there are many “hard sayings” within its pages but not so much the references to our blessed Lord Jesus. The unveiled Christ is the theme of all the songs, praise, and worship. His person is never complicated to the common man or woman, who are saints, who can always know Him in His totality.
The young bride awaiting her lover’s imminent return from war is not interested in the minor things that may accompany him. She does not spend her time anxiously mulling over in her mind if he will bring his belongings in a duffle bag or suitcase, will his transportation be by bus, train, or plane, will he bring friends with him, etc. No! The one main thought that dominates her every waking moment is, “MY BELOVED IS RETURNING TO ME!” All else is dwarfed in light of this wonderful, glorious truth.
“The watchword of every Christian should be, ‘HE’ is coming!”
